We are exceedingly pleased to announce that, on the evening of July 5, 2009 at the Palace Hotel in New York, the Bronze Hakutaku Award will be conferred upon Ryushi Komada, an International Netsuke Living Treasure.

The presentation of the Award will be made by the honorable Shinichi Nishimiya, Japan's newly appointed Ambassador to the United Nations and Consul General.

Please join us for the 17th International Netsuke Society Convention, the Hakutaku Convention. This presentation and reception, sponsored by Kokoro Japanese Art Advisors, will be open only to registered Convention attendees.

For those of you who have not already registered, please do so promptly. The Society needs an accurate count of attendees as soon as possible to provide the finest services for the Convention. We look forward to seeing you on July 2.
